The next Open Evening is on Wednesday 5th May 5.30pm-7.30pm. Everyone is welcome, no need to book!

National Award/Certificate/Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning & Development (Level 3)

This Modular course is for students aged 16 and over who wish to have training in all-round childcare, development and education of children from birth to 8 years. Practical experience is offered by arranging a variety of work placements.

You will learn how to observe and plan effectively for young children. You will undertake work experience on a termly block placement basis. As well as the usual entry requirements you will need a grade C or above in English. A Merit or Distinction is required from BTEC First Diploma.

A range of interesting study modules are included, such as: Children’s Learning Activities and Play; Protecting Children; Positive Relationships for Children’s Care, Learning & Development. You will also study a selection of specialist units including Diet & Nutrition and Care of Babies. There is the opportunity upon successful completion to progress onto further study/training in further or Higher Education or entry into employment.
