Study Support
Additional support may be offered on a one-to-one basis or with a member of staff joining a class.
Support we may be able to offer in the classroom includes:
- Help with reading, numeracy and writing
- Support for dyslexic students from staff experienced in dyslexia teaching
- Arranging suitable learning materials
- Providing specialised equipment
- Arranging extra time or breaks during exams, and providing specially printed or enlarged papers, or a reader or writer to help you
If you are deaf or hearing impaired we may be able to arrange:
- Qualified communicators and note takers
- A portable hearing loop for lectures
- Transcriptions of videos, films and tapes
- Time with a qualified teacher of the deaf
Equipment at the college includes:
- Braille printer
- Large screen computer monitor
- JAWS - a screen reader system for blind learners
- Zoom Text - software for enlarging text on screen
- LCD screens for those with photo epilepsy
- Tape recorders/dictaphones
- Personal laptops to loan to students
- Colour Magnifier
- Laptops
- Coloured overlays
