Additional support may be offered on a one-to-one basis or with a member of staff joining a class.

Support we may be able to offer in the classroom includes:

• Help with reading, numeracy and writing
• Support for dyslexic students from staff experienced in dyslexia teaching
• Arranging suitable learning materials
• Providing specialised equipment
• Arranging extra time or breaks during exams, and providing specially printed or enlarged papers, or a reader or writer to help you

If you are deaf or hearing impaired we may be able to arrange:

• Qualified communicators and note takers
• A portable hearing loop for lectures
• Transcriptions of videos, films and tapes
• Time with a qualified teacher of the deaf

Equipment at the college includes:

• Large screen computer monitor
• JAWS - a screen reader system for blind learners
• Zoom Text - software for enlarging text on screen
• LCD screens for those with photo epilepsy
• Tape recorders/dictaphones
• Personal laptops to loan to students
