Depending on your household income, you may be entitled to help with the costs of attending and staying at college to complete your course. The following help is available:

16-19 Bursary Fund

This fund replaces the Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA). The Bursary Fund is a means-tested fund which can help with costs such as:

• Equipment
• Uniform
• Travel
• Educational visits
• Meal costs
• Monthly allowances (subject to meeting stated criteria)

19+ Learner Support Fund

This means-tested fund now incorporates the Adult Learner Grant (ALG) and can help with costs such as:

• Childcare
• Equipment
• Uniform
• Travel
• Educational visits
• Tuition fees (in exceptional circumstances) and exam fees
• Monthly allowances

Travel Support

Right now travel deals include:

• Free travel
• £1 return fares
• Half-price fares
• Help from your local authority
• Help with fuel costs

Travel assistance is awarded on receipt of appropriate applications and supporting evidence and each case is looked at individually.
