Advice & Guidance

Well qualified and experienced staff, based in Student Services from Monday to Friday, offering help for whole classes and on a one-to-one basis. Just drop in or make an appointment. Individual help for students

  • The opportunity to call in and get information and advice as and when required

Help for parents

  • Parents and carers are welcome to visit the Guidance Centre where support and advice is available
  • Information on the university application process and the funding available is given on specially arranged evening sessions for parents

Help for whole classes

  • A comprehensive Careers Education programme delivered through the tutorial system
  • Group sessions covering a wide range of topics including ‘How to use the Guidance Centre’, researching university courses and applying to Higher Education, student finance, interview skills, producing a CV and preparation for the world of work

Career events

  • The Guidance Centre organise a range of events throughout the year including presentations by local companies and day trips to universities
  • Access to job vacancies and help with CVs, application forms and interviews
