The Life Science pathway will show you that biology is both exciting and very relevant to our daily lives. The programme begins by helping you to understand the basic concepts of biology. You will learn about health and disease through existing medical research and in Term 2 you will carry out your own investigation in the laboratory. Alongside this you will learn core skills in IT, presentation and communication. This programme is challenging but also fun and extremely interesting too!

Inspired by the TV programme? Looking for a new hobby? Come along and decorate a bag, learn reverse applique and upcycle a garment.

Session 1 – decorate a canvas bag – provided. Bring along any trimmings eg beads, buttons, ribbons.
Session 2 – learn how to do applique and reverse applique. Hand or machine sewing options to suit your level of skill and confidence.
Session 3 – Upcycling – bring along a garment to upcycle or customise a white T shirt provided.

Site Carpentry Diploma (EWPA)

Sport HNC/D

Passionate about a career in sport? This full-time qualification will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need for a successful career in the sport industry as a Practitioner, Manager or Coach. Year 1 of this two year course is studied at Level 4 (HNC). Year 2 is at Level 5 (HND).

Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools

This qualification will give you the knowledge and skills needed to work as qualified Teaching Assistant supporting children in primary, secondary or special schools. This qualification is ideal if you are interested in working as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant or are currently working in an unsupervised role that supports pupils' learning, including specialist roles. You will need to be working, volunteering or on practical placement as you will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills. We will help you find that placement.

Women's Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma

This course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to provide basic shampoo and condition, styling men's and women's hair, plaiting and twisting, the art of dressing hair, salon reception duties, hair make-up, manicure and pedicure treatments. You will gain an insight into working in the sector and knowledge of the health, safety and hygiene requirements. It will support progression onto a Level 2 course.
