About the Course
Our English courses can help you develop the practical skills in English and maths that you need to live, study and work. You'll learn to apply English and maths skills in real-life situations through reading, writing, speaking and listening tasks.
Sessions are taught on mornings or afternoons, on various days of the week, depending on demand. Please ask for more details.
There are no entry requirements to undertake functional skills qualifications. However, before starting the course you will be asked to do an assessment to make sure you are placed on the right level of course.
How much does it cost?
FREE (if you have not yet achieved a level 2 qualification in English or Maths, such as a C grade at GCSE or equivalent).
The Functional Skills qualification is recognised by an increasing number of employers and could be useful in a wide variety of career choices.
Where will this course take me?
You could go on to GCSE or other higher level study.
How will I be assessed?
You'll be assessed through continual assessment of your speaking and listening skills and two short exams.
