About the course
This course provides an extensive knowledge and skills in engineering with specialist units available in Advanced Manufacturing and Automated Systems. You will be studying in the new (£11m) state-of-the-art Harlow Advanced Manufacturing Centre (HAMEC) equipped with over £2m worth of industry standard machinery and equipment. There is a huge demand for qualified engineers locally, nationally and internationally. We work closely with industry to ensure our courses meet the requirements of employers.
Why study?
The course covers the fundamental engineering concepts and skills required of a higher technician as well as providing a sound basis for further study at degree level. The course is delivered through a mixture of classroom activity, guided assignment work and examinations. Emphasis is placed on problem solving skills and students should expect the delivery to reflect this combined with associated mathematical concepts.

Where will this course take me?
After the HND a Top-up to a full Degree may be possible. Check with Universities directly or the UCAS website.
After the HNC – you could ask to transfer to the second year of a degree. Again, contact the University's admission team direct after searching the course on the UCAS website. Or you could continue at Harlow College and complete your HND.
This course also prepares you for working in a variety of engineering environments, including senior technician to production and manufacture operations.

How much does it cost?
Fees for new learners on HNC Year 1 are £5990
Fees for learners moving from HNC to HND (direct entry to year 2) are £5990
Fees for learners moving from HND year 1 to HND year 2 are £5990 (cost of living rise only = 3%).
You may access a student loan for the fees and maintenance.
