This full-time qualification will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need for a successful career in the sport industry as a Practitioner, Manager or Coach. The curriculum will develop your knowledge and understanding, opening up a broad choice of career options.
Year 1 of this two year course is studied at Level 4 (HNC). Year 2 is at Level 5 (HND).
Our staff have a wide range of experience in the Sport industry, which means that you will benefit from first hand expertise in sports such as hockey, track and field, kettle bells, fitness instructing, personal training, judo, and boxing. Staff teach, but also compete or work in the fitness industry, so they have first-hand work experience and expertise to share. We have well developed sporting networks and we can offer our learners work experience in an area of their choice.

BTEC Higher National qualifications are widely recognised by industry and higher education as the principal vocational qualification at Levels 4 and 5.
The qualification provides students with a clear line-of-sight to employment and to progression to a degree.
You will have the opportunity to progress to year 2 or 3 of an Honours degree programme.
Career progression: Leisure Centre Manager, Sport Coach, self-employed in the fitness industry, sport development, recreation, Anatomy and Physiology or Nutrition.
The Edexcel BTEC HNC and HND in Sport and in Sport and Exercise Sciences offer progression routes to membership of The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM) and the Institute for Sport, Parks and Leisure (ISPAL).
After the HND a Top-up to a full Degree may be possible. Check with Universities directly or the UCAS website.
After the HNC – you could ask to transfer to the second year of a degree. Again, contact the University's admission team direct after searching the course on the UCAS website. Or you could continue at Harlow College and complete your HND.
