About the course
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Set Up a New Business is a qualification that has been specifically designed for all vocational areas of study including; hairdressing and barbering, beauty therapy and complementary therapies.

Level 2 in beauty Therapy, Barbering or Hairdressing or equivalent.
How much does it cost?
Free to those aged 16-18. If you are aged 19+ you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.
£100 per year to cover cost of educational visits, guest seakers and workshops, plus your own equipment and textbook.
This qualification is made up of seven mandatory units that would be relevant to you when starting up a new business. They include; an understanding of the type of challenges and risks that you may face, personal qualities and abilities, planning, building relationships, marketing and selling, negotiating deals and the all important business finance.
This course is theory based. Learners will be working within the salon and reception environments to generate evidence to support completion
On completion of this qualification you should have sufficient knowledge to become self employed in your chosen career path.
