About the course

This new T Level focuses on the development of knowledge and skills needed for working in the Engineering Industry, which will prepare learners to enter the industry through employment or as an apprentices. The completion of this qualification gives the learner the opportunity to progress onto higher education courses and training. The content on this course covers a broad range of engineering skills with specific focus on design, mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths, English and at least one Science/Engineering/Design based subject.

How much does it cost?

Free to those aged 16-18

This course is not currently available for 19+ learners.

There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries.

Why study?

Throughout the course there will be large amounts of practical work included in the relevant topics e.g. working with PLC devices or CAD programming.

Various Engineering and Manufacturing companies will be visited in the local area and further trips to Engineering Conferences.

Where will this course take me?

The T Level study programme is eligible for UCAS points. A T Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A Levels at A* 

However please check the UCAS website for course entry requirements.

T Levels offer many opportunities for progression:

Apprenticeship: There are many opportunities offered through apprenticeships that allow you to carry on learning (20%) whilst spending most of your time (80%) furthering your skills in the workplace.

Higher  Education: If you choose to study further, your T level is worth UCAS points and will allow you entry onto certain courses. Please check UCAS website as course entry requirements vary.
