About the course

Learn the skills and techniques of a barber. You have the opportunity to try out your practical skills on your fellow students and the final assessments of these skills will be carried out by to paying members of the public.
Entry requirements
You will need to undertake an initial assessment in English and Maths, achieving at least level 1 in both subject areas.

Before starting the course, you will need to purchase your own equipment in the form of a barbering kit, uniform, textbooks and stationery. This is an additional cost to the course fee.

How will I be assessed?
You will have a mixture of practical sessions in the barbershop and classroom-based lessons teaching underpinning knowledge. You will be expected to complete barber services on paying clients in the commercial barbershop.
It is expected that you may need to bring in your own clients for practical assessments. Educational trips will also be available to enhance learning.
