About the course

The course aims to help kickstart creative ideas and passions into viable business concept. Developing confidence, creative and business skills to open the doors to a new career. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own personal experience as part of the course through a weekly Vlog. The skills learnt are transferable to any but are particularly useful in promoting an entrepreneurial venture.

Who is it suitable for?

This course is suitable for anyone who is looking to explore the possibilities of developing a hobby or interest into a career within a chosen specialism.

The knowledge and skills gained through this course will enable the learner to confidently promote themselves through methods such as photography, cv building, coding, social media and design skills for branding.

Why study?

This course is a short and creative insight into the methods and processes required to promote a creative portfolio. You will learn through a range of creative activities how to develop ideas and promote your own creative work within a business context. This is an excellent course if you would like to understand the basics of creative self-promotion or as a first step towards a higher-level course or launching your own creative business. 

Independent Learning remotely approx. 5 hours a week.

Unit 1: Introduction to Creative Media Methods and Skills

Unit 2: Introduction to Production Techniques in Creative Media

How will I be assessed?

Assessed through a creative portfolio and reflective journals, all which comprise the contents of the Award Portfolio.

Will I have to provide anything?

You will need basic equipment such as pens, paper and a USB memory stick.
