About the course
Barbering is an everlasting industry. It's an amazing product with lots of different career opportunities. Successful people in the industry can take their pick from many top jobs – such as running your own business, preparing models, working on magazines and photoshoots, in theatre and film, even tending to the rich and famous.
Entry requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, ideally one of which is English.

Why study?
You will learn the skills and techniques to be able to work in this fast-paced and exciting industry. You will attend both theory and practical demonstration classes throughout the week. Theory units are delivered individually with an exam at the end of each one. Practical skills are developed on both blocks and clients until you feel confident; you will then be assessed working independently.

Part-time courses require 100% commitment and learners should expect to do between 5-10 hours self-directed study at home each week.

How will I be assessed?
You will have a mixture of practical sessions in the salon and classroom-based lessons teaching underpinning knowledge. You will be expected to complete hairdressing/beauty/barbering services on paying clients in the commercial salon.
It is expected that you may need to bring in your own clients for practical assessments. Educational trips will also be available to enhance learning.
