About the course

The VTCT Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is a qualification that has been specifically designed to introduce you to practical beauty therapy skills. This qualification will develop the knowledge skills to prepare learners for further study. Learners will have their beauty therapy skills assessed in a real or realistic working environment. 

The purpose of this qualification is designed to develop your skills in beauty therapy and will provide you with the foundation for further learning. It will also enable you to perform your own basic services and to assist others in the salon.

How much does it cost?

Free to those aged 16-18. There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.

You will need to buy personal stationery plus kit, uniform and online learning resource. Cost to be confirmed

How will I be assessed?

You will have a mixture of practical sessions in the salon and classroom-based lessons teaching underpinning knowledge. You will be expected to complete beauty services on paying clients in the commercial salon.

It is expected that you may need to bring in your own clients for practical assessments. 

You will be assessed through:

• Online exams
• Practical observations
• Assignments
