About the course
Learn the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all building services practices. Includes health and safety requirements and the communication of building services information. It offers an extensive choice and flexibility for you to demonstrate your competence in a broad variety of building services activities.
4 GCSEs grade 2 or above including Maths & English. Positive reference from school or previous college and a minimum of 85% attendance.
How much does it cost?
Free to those aged 16-18. If you are aged 19+ you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.
If you are enrolled on the Building Services (Plumbing) qualification, you will study installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, above ground drainage, pipework (copper, plastic, low carbon steel) and plumbing science. Mandatory topics covered will range from: - Structure of the construction industry, environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings and site preparation in the construction industry.
