Funding Your Course

If you're aged 19 or over and you want to study A Levels, an Access to Higher Education Diploma, or a Level 3 to 6 Vocational Qualification, you could be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan.

    About the course

    This course provides the basic business skills required by industry and provides a progression route to Level 3 courses or a Business Administration Apprenticeship.

    Entry requirements

    4 GCSEs Grades 2 - 3 or equivalent and minimum Level 1 diagnostic in Maths and English. A satisfactory pass at a Level 1 qualification.

    How much does it cost?

    Age 16-18 free. 19+ will require an employer's contribution. There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.

    Reduced fees may be available for 19+ learners. £90 per year to cover cost of educational visits, guest seakers and workshops, plus your own equipment and textbook.

    You will need to provide stationery, folder, text book and a USB memory stick. Textbooks to be confirmed at enrolment. £100 for educational trips, visits, and guest speakers.

    You will need to successfully complete all units to achieve the Level 2 Diploma in Business Support.

    How will I be assessed?

    Each unit will integrate pass, merit and distinction tasks which will either be word processed, presented individually or role play as appropriate. You will be given a target grade and will be constantly challenged to meet or even exceed this throughout the course.

    There are some examined units and the rest are coursework based. Where appropriate, coursework is uploaded to the College VLE or through Showbie.
