About the course
The aim of this qualification is to support learners as they develop their knowledge, understanding and skills when caring for and supporting the learning and development of children aged 0 – 11years 11 months. Whilst studying this course you will also complete the T Level Transition Programme which will be tailored to meet your needs in English and Maths, Technical skills, Pastoral support and Personal development.

How much does it cost?
Free to those aged 16-18. If you are aged 19+ you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.
Throughout the course there will be a wide range of practical activities in every unit. These include activities such as bottle making, planning and preparing activities for children 0-11years, caring for a virtual baby overnight, carrying out risk assessment and setting up enabling learning environments. It is designed to support progress onto the Level 3 T-Level programme.
Shadowing in the work placement, Team building activities both in and out of college and Educational trips.
Industry specialists including Health visitors, Nursery Managers, Teachers, Speech and Language therapists and Play workers.
Students will get to carry out at least 120 hours in placements in a wide range of Early years and Primary settings including full-time day nurseries, Pre-Schools and Primary Schools.

The Foundation programme will also include embedding of maths and English, introductory technical skills and Pastoral support and personal development.
How will I be assessed?
Will include a wide range of assessment methods including written assignments, videos, professional discussions, posters and observations on placement.
