Explore your creativity and build a strong foundation in art and design. Careers in the creative industry are competitive, so we aim to give you the best start through hands-on experience in our excellent facilities.

You’ll work on real projects with local partners such as St Margaret’s Hospital, Harlow Playhouse and Gibberd Garden, gaining practical skills and confidence as you develop your portfolio.

What Will I Do?

Our courses cover a wide range of creative and technical skills. You’ll be able to express yourself through illustration, drawing and painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics, 3D work, costume and set design, graphic design and more.

You’ll also take part in trips to places like the V&A, Tate, Fashion and Textile Museum, Barbican, London Transport Museum, Colchester Zoo and Gunpowder Mills, as well as local galleries and artist studios.

Many of our students go on to study at universities across the country.

Popular progression routes include Illustration at Norwich University of the Arts; Architecture at Nottingham Trent University; Interior Design at the University of Hertfordshire; Graphic Design at UAL London College of Communication; Ceramics at UAL Central Saint Martins; Fine Art at ARU; Photography at UAL London College of Fashion; Wildlife Photography at the University of Cumbria; and Fashion at Westminster University.
