The purpose of this qualification is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the specific and supplementary requirements related to the design, installation, and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) supply equipment, and associated circuits, in domestic and small commercial settings.

AAT Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping (Online and On Campus)

This Level 1 qualification is studied both online and on campus, meaning part of your study will be at home and part of your study will be face to face in college. The course introduces the role of a bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques. It covers the buying and selling process and the common documents used. The unit also includes recording transactions in the books of prime entry. On completion of this unit, students will be familiar with bookkeeping terminology and will have developed practical bookkeeping skills. Students will gain the confidence to contribute effectively in the workplace and to move on to further study in bookkeeping.

On successful completion of this course, you might be eligible for a fully funded Level 2 course. Please see information on progression.

This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Foundation course is an entry-level accounting qualification, ideal for anyone who is seeking an introduction to basic accounting principles and skills.

This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom, meaning part of your study will be at home and part of your study will be face to face in college.

On successful completion of this course, you might be eligible for a fully funded Level 3 course. Please see information on progression.

This Level 2 course is part-funded, so the cost for students is reduced.

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting (Online and On Campus)

This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) advanced level course is a mid-level accounting qualification, ideal for anyone who is looking to advance their existing knowledge of accounting. 

This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom, meaning part of your study will be at home and part of your study will be face to face in college. 

This Level 3 course is part of the National Skills Fund initiative and is fully funded for eligible learners. Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of studying this course. Please ask a member of college staff for more information.

CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management and Leadership

The Diploma in First Line Management and Leadership is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Learners study with the college part-time and complete work-based assessments as part of the course. This qualification is suitable for those who are, or are aiming to become, team leaders and / or supervisors. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career and who want to become team leaders / supervisors as well as those aspiring or existing managers who may already have developed practical experience but are seeking to develop their management and leadership capabilities. 

This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons, referred to as Online and On Campus.

Classroom attendance is every other week.

Lessons are accompanied by animations and motion graphics to bring concepts to life Downloadable lesson materials, practice and scenario-based questions with model responses and practical exercises and case studies all help to consolidate knowledge and enhance the learning experience further. 

Learners should expect to spend around 3-4 hours studying independently online each week. 


On campus, you benefit from regular classes with a college tutor – without having to commit to attending multiple evenings each week. Your tutor will review what you have learnt during your online lessons and will be on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Regular discussion with classmates will help to reinforce key points while also providing the additional support and motivation that comes from being part of a group.

CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management

The Diploma in Management and Leadership is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Learners study at college part-time and complete work-based projects as part of the course. This qualification is ideal for those who are, or who wish to become, Operational or Departmental Managers, or existing managers who have practical management skills, but wish to develop their theoretical understanding further.


This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education, and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons, referred to as Online and On Campus.

Design, Installation and Commissioning of Small Electrical Energy Storage Systems

The purpose of this qualification is to cover the knowledge, understanding and skills required for the design, installation and maintenance of electrical energy storage systems (EESS). It follows the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and industry guidance, together with the requirements of BS 7671. It will include a range of relevant outcomes covering statutory legislation applicable to EESS, the principles of batteries and EESS, how to specify and design EESS, installation, inspection and testing, and handover of an EESS and will be aligned with the MCS requirements. The qualification will also be mapped to the latest National Occupational Standard (NOS) SPV01.

Domestic Air Source Heat Pump and Domestic Ground Source Heat Pump

This is a nationally recognised qualification in the installation and maintenance of air source heat pump systems. The qualification is recognised by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join one of their respective schemes.

This qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required to install and maintain heat pump systems and solar technology. You will cover topics such as: 
     - Size, select, install, commission and handover air source heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits). 
     - Plan, prepare and maintain air source heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits).

Early Years Educator (Working in the Early Years Sector)

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. Learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as:

• Assistant in Children's Centres
• Practitioner in nursery schools
• Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
• Pre-school worker

We have structured the units around three themes:• Theme 1: Health and well-being
• Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
• Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness

This course provides learners with the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals from a variety of early years settings, exchange experiences, and share best practices.

To successfully complete this qualification, you must be employed, volunteering, or undertaking a practical placement in a real work environment (RWE) for a minimum of 16 hours per week, allowing you to demonstrate both knowledge and skill competency.

Early Years Practitioner Diploma – Adult Course Level 2

This one-year qualification is designed to equip you with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to six years old, with a focus on applied knowledge for early years, specifically from 0 to 4 years.

The course content aligns with the Department for Education's (DfE) Level 2 criteria, ensuring it meets the requirements for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.

The course is structured over one year, with one morning per week spent in college and a minimum of 16 hours in an Early Years setting. During the course, you will study topics such as:

  • The roles and responsibilities of an Early Years Practitioner
  • Health and safety for babies and young children in the early years
  • Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusive practices in Early Years settings

To successfully complete this qualification, you must be employed, volunteering, or undertaking a practical placement in a real work environment (RWE), allowing you to demonstrate both knowledge and skill competency.

Electrical Installations – Level 3

This is as a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. It covers the basic underpinning knowledge and technical practical skills needed to be an Electrician. The programme provides a good foundation for future careers opportunities or progression on to a more advanced work-related qualification.

Installation and Maintenance of Small Solar Photovoltaic Systems (2922-34)

The purpose of this qualification is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the specific and supplementary requirements related to the design, installation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems, in domestic and small commercial settings. These requirements align with the current IET Code of Practice for Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems and the most relevant Regulations in relation to solar PV infrastructure. The qualification is also be mapped to the latest National Occupational Standards (NOS) SPV01.
