AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping (Online and On Campus)

This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Foundation course is an entry-level bookkeeping qualification, ideal for anyone who is seeking an introduction to basic bookkeeping principles and skills.

This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom. 

This Level 2 course is part-funded, so the cost for students is reduced. 

On successful completion of this course, you might be eligible for a fully funded Level 3 course. Please see information on progression.

Please note: classroom attendance is fortnightly, on every other Tuesday.

AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting (Online and On Campus)

This AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) professional level course is a higher-level accounting qualification. If you successfully complete this qualification and fulfil the AAT’s work experience requirements, you can apply for AAT full membership and achieve professional AAT Accountant status. This flexible course is delivered in partnership with Mindful Education and combines online learning with face-to-face lessons in the classroom.

You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of this course. Please ask a member of college staff for details. 

Please note: The course starts on 19th September. Classroom attendance is weekly, every Tuesday.

CMI Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Leadership (Online and On Campus)

Daytime or evening courses available.

There are 3 course options available if you’d like to gain a qualification in CMI Level 3 Leadership & Management: 

Level 3 CMI Leadership & Management Award - 8 weeks - Study 1 unit - £250

Level 3 CMI Leadership & Management Certificate - 16 weeks - Study 2 units - £650

Level 3 CMI Leadership & Management Diploma - 1 year - Study all units - £1800

The Diploma in Management and Leadership is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management. Staff study at college part-time and complete work-based projects as part of the course. This qualification is suitable for those who are, or wish to become, team leaders and/or supervisors. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career that wish to become team leaders/ supervisors as well as those aspiring or existing managers who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills further.

This Level 3 course is part of the National Skills Fund initiative and is fully funded for eligible learners. Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of studying this course. Please ask a member of college staff for more information.

CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and leadership (Online and On Campus)

The Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, designed for middle managers, is designed to develop personal management capabilities and grow professional management skills including decision-making, managing team dynamics and delegation capability. Learners will complete a number of units and each unit will require a piece of work to be submitted and all deadlines will be provided during the induction.

In addition to monthly classes all learners will be expected to complete independent study outside of the classroom. This varies from week to week but could include set readings, research or gathering information from within the workplace.

There are 3 course options available if you’d like to gain a qualification in Level 5 Diploma in Management and leadership:

CMI Level 5 Award in Management and leadership – 10 weeks – Study 1 unit – £350

CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and leadership – 20 weeks – Study 2 units – £650

CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and leadership – Study all units – 1 year – £2000

Early Years Practitioner Diploma – Adult Course Level 2

This course will provide you with a foundational knowledge of childcare in the classroom. Working alongside others from a variety of early year settings learning about the value of play, child development, partnership with parents and building relationships with children. Opportunities to network with others and share good practice of your workplace and take part in college activities developing skills in ICT, English & Maths.

Early Years Workforce – Adult Course Level 3

This course will enable you to gain a foundational knowledge of childcare in the classroom. Working alongside others from a variety of early year settings learning about the value of play, child development, partnership with parents and building relationships with children. Opportunities to network with others and share good practice of your workplace and take part in college activities developing skills in ICT, English & Maths.

Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness – Level 1 Award

This Level 1 Award is designed for people who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and require safety awareness, it is particularly suitable for non-technical people working in the automotive industry such as managers, valeters, parts and sales staff but also for private electric/hybrid vehicle drivers who wish to understand more about their vehicle. 

Delivered as one 3 hour evening session, you will learn about the different types of electric and hybrid vehicles, the dangers surrounding all variations of the vehicles and the precautions to avoid potential injury.

Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Level 2 Award

This course is designed to help you understand how to work safely when carrying out routine maintenance activities on Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

Ideal for those working in the automotive industry or anyone who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation as well as the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system.

This Award sized qualification offers an introduction to this specialised industry sector to compliment your current industry qualifications and experience. If you are a member of the IMI, you can use this qualification to gain IMI TechSafe™ accreditation, and therefore the ability to easily demonstrate to colleagues, customers and professionals that you’re fully qualified to be working on EV vehicles and/or vehicles with ADAS technologies.

English GCSE

In today's tough job market more and more employers expect candidates to have at least a grade 4 in GCSE English. This course will suit those already working and those still seeking employment. It's a perfect opportunity to brush up on the essential skills required by employers, and gain a qualification in the process.

Essential Digital Skills

Course venue: Bright Futures Training Centre in Harlow

Essential Digital Skills qualifications will help you to develop your digital skills for life, work or for use in further study. The qualifications designed for adults are based on the national standards and include:

  • Using devices and handling information
  • Creating and editing
  • Communicating online
  • Transacting (buying) online activities
  • Being responsible, safe and legal online

Your course start date will depend on what level you are enrolled onto. You will complete an online initial assessment at Bright Futures Training Centre to identify the appropriate level for you. Upon completing your assessment, a tutor will review your results and discuss the appropriate course level for you to enrol on.

Functional Skills English

Functional Skills qualifications are designed to support you as you seek to improve your literacy skills and provide you with the fundamental knowledge required for everyday life. Achieving an English qualification will increase your confidence and motivation and the skills gained will aid you in the workplace or any further learning.
