About the course

Future-proof your career with our Skills Bootcamp in Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Installation — a practical and industry-focused course designed to give you the skills and qualifications needed to meet the growing demand for renewable heating solutions.

Studied one evening a week over 16 weeks, the Bootcamp blends classroom learning with hands-on practical training. You’ll gain the knowledge and experience required to install, commission and service air source heat pump systems, while also achieving three nationally recognised qualifications:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Water Regulations
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Hot Water Systems
  • BPEC Air Source Heat Pump Installation

Together, these qualifications create a comprehensive training package for professionals looking to start or advance their career in the low-carbon heating sector.

Entry requirements

A background in plumbing or heating is required for entry

You need to be 19 or over to do a Skills Bootcamp.

You must have the right to work in the UK

You must be a resident of Greater Essex (if you reside outside of Greater Essex but are employed within Greater Essex you may still be eligible for funding)

How much does it cost?

This course is a Skills Bootcamp and is fully-funded (free) if you are aged 19 or over and:
· Have the right to work in the UK
· A resident of Greater Essex (if you reside outside of Greater Essex but are employed within Greater Essex you may still be eligible for funding)
· You have not completed another Skills Bootcamp during the same financial year (1st April 2025 – 31st March 2026)

If you do not meet the above eligibility criteria for a Skills Bootcamp you may be eligible for other funding, alternatively you could enrol on the course by paying the appropriate tuition fees.
