Deputy Principal honoured with Palace Garden Party invitation

Will at Buck Palace 05

We're excited to share that our Deputy Principal, Will Allanson, was recently invited to attend the Buckingham Palace Education and Skills Garden Party on May 14, 2025.

This special event, hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, recognises the contributions of individuals who are making a real difference in education across the UK - people like Will, who play such an important role in shaping the future.

Each year, more than 30,000 guests are welcomed to spend a summer afternoon in the beautiful gardens of Buckingham Palace or the Palace of Holyroodhouse. These Garden Parties offer the Royal Family a chance to meet and thank people from all walks of life who have made a positive impact in their communities, and have become a meaningful way to honour public service.

This year’s Garden Party brought together around 8,000 guests from across the education sector, including teachers, administrators and civil servants from the Department for Education. Guests enjoyed a relaxed afternoon exploring the stunning gardens and sharing afternoon tea in one of the grand marquees - an ideal opportunity to connect with colleagues and peers from across the country.

“It’s such a privilege to say you’ve had afternoon tea at the Palace - definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience! I brought my daughter along, and we had a fantastic time wandering through the gardens.

“Being in the presence of the King and Queen was a truly memorable moment and I’m incredibly honoured to have been nominated.”
