From Classroom to Gallery: College student’s photos chosen for London exhibit
A student from Harlow College has been selected by UAL Awarding Body to exhibit their photographic project at Origins Creatives 2025 in London this July.
Medina Hossain has been selected to exhibit her work at Origins Creatives, taking place at the Mall Galleries in July.
Medina’s submission, titled ‘There Are No Ordinary Moments’, explores her hometown of Harlow, transforming it into cinematic neo-noir nightscapes. Using street and night photography, she elevates everyday urban scenes into vivid, stylized images that challenge perceptions of the ordinary, and caught the attention of UAL Awarding Body’s curator, Calum Hall, amongst over 600 submissions.
Medina is a student on the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography course at Harlow College. This two year vocational course blends digital and traditional photographic techniques from studio shoots and darkroom development to location work in commercial, fashion, food, portraits, weddings, nature, journalism and beyond.
Origins Creatives is a free exhibition presented by UAL Awarding Body, offering an exciting opportunity for art enthusiasts, critics, and industry professionals in the creative sector to discover fresh, original talent. This event celebrates the dedication and hard work of young creatives from across the UK and internationally. Origins Creatives provides a platform for emerging talent to be seen and celebrated, connecting them with potential collaborators, industry leaders, and a wider audience.
The exhibition features outstanding work from students based across our centres showcasing their talent across the UAL subject areas of Art and Design, Fashion Business and Retail, Creative Media, Music Performance and Production, Performing Arts, Entry Level 3 in Art and Design and Performing Arts, Professional Diplomas, and the Extended Project Qualification.
