Catering – Professional Cookery Apprenticeship

An Apprenticeship in Professional Cookery will provide you with the skills and experience to work competently within the hospitality industry whilst working towards the industry standard qualification. As an apprentice, you will work under close supervision of an experienced employer. You will learn all aspects of the industry while maintaining effective working relationships with other trades and customers.

Chef – Junior Chefs' Academy

Chefs' Academy runs for 10 weeks. For nine weeks it is on a Wednesday evening. The last week is on a Saturday for a celebration lunch.

This is a unique course for students aged 14-16 designed to attract and develop young talent into the hospitality and catering industry. There are lots of reasons to come to the Junior chef's Academy:

  • You'll be able to take home the food you make
  • You get to make delicious desserts as well as savoury dishes

Chef – Professional Cookery Level 2

This hands-on programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge to help you become a professional chef. It will open doors to various sectors of the food industry and provide you with many workplace essentials. Throughout this course you will gain high standard cookery skills in our state-of-the art facilities, alongside other fundamental knowledge in hygiene, health & safety, teamwork and customer care.

Culinary Skills Introduction Level 1

This is a practical programme, which helps you to develop skills in cooking. These skills will allow you to prepare a wide range of dishes. The Certificate gives you an excellent grounding in the hospitality and catering industry.

Food and Beverage Service Diploma Level 2

This is a practical programme which helps you to develop your knowledge and skills for various styles of food service, including plate, silver service and buffet. In addition you will learn other workplace essentials like hygiene, health & safety, teamwork and customer care.

Food Safety in Catering Award

This is a certified course that is essential if you are considering working within the Hospitality and Catering Industry. You will look at the safe and hygienic handling of food, gain a knowledge and understanding of food poisoning and food borne disease, preservation of food, cleaning and disinfection, personal hygiene, pest control and legal requirements and responsibilities.

Hospitality & Catering Services Apprenticeship

If you're keen to earn whilst you learn an apprenticeship is for you. An Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering Services will give you the skills and experience you'll need to work competently within the hospitality industry whilst working towards the industry standard qualification. You'll work under the close supervision of an experienced employer and you'll learn all aspects of the industry, while maintaining effective working relationships with other trades and customers.

Hospitality and Events Management Level 3

This course is focused on developing a broad range of skills used in the hospitality and events industry. It will equip you with key front of house skills and organising techniques to enable you to co-ordinate functions, events and conferences. You will also develop a deeper understanding of the role required for management and supervision. It encompasses everything you need to know in order to deliver outstanding service, manage an event, and supervise a team.

Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Level 3

This is a practical programme which helps you to develop your knowledge and skills to supervise the service of food and drinks. The course covers the development of working relationships, control of resources, management of receipts, storage of goods, the development of wine lists and the handling of payments.

Retail Team Leader Apprenticeship

Retail team leaders are a critical support to managers, delivering exceptional customer service. The role is dynamic and on a day to day basis may involve co-ordinating a team to complete tasks, identifying and exploring opportunities that drive sales and ensuring team members maintain business standards. There are a variety of outlets and retailers across Stansted Airport and beyond and this provides an excellent starting point for individuals wanting to pursue a career into management within this sector.
