About the course
This new and engaging part-time course, delivered over six months, introduces learners to the fundamentals of app design. Through a combination of research tasks, presentations and practical projects, you will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to begin creating effective app concepts. There may also be opportunities to progress from initial design work to building a functioning app.
While the course focuses primarily on design and development using Apple technologies, it will also demonstrate how these skills can be adapted for Android platforms.
You will explore a blend of practical and theoretical activities, including research, evaluation, sketching, digital graphics and an introduction to app development tools such as Swift (iOS) and AndroidSuite (Android). This course provides a valuable foundation for further study within digital design and development pathways.
