About the course
This 5 day course comprises of one qualification tailored to address the skills needed to successfully progress on to one of our industry specific employability courses such as SIA, CSCS, Prepare to work in Schools and others.
Award in Employability Skills:
Understanding Mindset
Focuses on key mindset qualities (honesty, commitment, flexibility, accountability) that improve employability, including how to develop and demonstrate them.
Dealing with numbers in a place of work
This unit focuses on how numbers are applied in workplace settings. They practice solving number problems, checking accuracy, and communicating their calculations effectively, developing essential numeracy skills for work.
ICT for Employment
This unit develops knowledge and skills in using workplace technology. Learners identify different ICT systems and tools, describe their uses, and practice applying them in line with workplace guidelines building digital confidence for employment.
How to Keep Improving
This unit emphasizes self-improvement and professional growth. Learners assess their own learning and development needs. They also explore how self-improvement can prepare them for new responsibilities, role changes, or working with new people.
Qualification
NCFE CACHE Entry 3 Award in Employability Skills
Entry requirements
No formal qualifications are required but learners will be required to undertake initial assessments in English and maths.
How much does it cost?
Free if you are unemployed and receiving benefit or earning under £25,750 per annum.
Must have a National Insurance number.
Must have been a UK resident for the last 3 years or proof of right to education.

How will I be assessed?
Assessed through activities in class and continuous feedback given. Evidenced through completion of project workbooks, written assignment and practical observation.
