Project Community is a new initiative uniting essential services across Harlow to provide support for the local community.

Health and Social Care students at Harlow College will have a unique opportunity to experience real life working practices with the unveiling of a fully equipped hospital ward, therapy room and a recreation of an elderly person’s flat on the college campus.

Each year, Harlow College sees around 500 adults retake their English and Maths and this year’s cohort have again earned some excellent results.

Harlow College Art and Design student Emma Pocock, 17, was selected by the University of the Arts London (UAL) to have her work exhibited at Origins Creatives, with the exhibition taking place throughout July at the Truman Brewery in London’s Brick Lane.

49-year-old Ben Walker from Bishops Stortford has embraced a new challenge after facing redundancy from his long-time job in the print industry. Just as the pandemic struck. Ben was working for Rupert Murdoch’s former company News International when he learned of his redundancy and it was shortly after that he decided to try his hand as a carpenter by undertaking an apprenticeship.

Access to Higher Education learners at Harlow College are proving that age and time away from the classroom are no barriers to success, with many now pursuing their dreams of going on to higher education.

Following months of hard work and an intensive three-day final challenge in Padova, Italy, 25-year-old Harlow College final year student, Kieran Raphy, along with 18-year-old Catherine Ripley, in her second year at Westminster Kingsway College, came out on top in the first Unox UK Combi-Guru challenge.
