Karen Spencer, Principal and CEO of Harlow College and Stansted Airport College, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the recent Queen’s Birthday 2020 Honours List.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) has chosen the designs for two sculptures which will have pride of place outside the charity’s airbases at North Weald and Earls Colne.

With this in mind we are advising you that the College will continue with online learning for all our GCSE and A Level learners up until Thursday 7th May 2020. Our online learning will recommence on Monday 20th April 2020, in the meantime enjoy your two week Easter break.

Despite having to work under incredibly challenging circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown, our students have still recorded some fantastic A Level results, achieving a 99% pass rate for the third year in a row.

The government has announced that Harlow College, along with another 17 schools and colleges, has been awarded the prestigious EdTech Demonstrator status.

A collaborative approach across different sectors has enabled staff at Harlow College to begin the manufacture of vital personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline NHS staff.

Harlow College understands that this is a very uncertain time for everyone who was expecting to sit exams this summer. We know that students and parents may be worried about how that might affect plans to start a course with us in September. 

You will still be able to take up a place at College next academic year and we will follow government guidelines to ensure that you can progress to the right course of study. 

The Department for Education has outlined plans to award students a calculated grade for their GCSEs and A levels this summer and an exam option for those that wish to take it as soon as is reasonably possible after schools and colleges reopen.

We will respond quickly and fairly to all further guidance from the government to ensure students are able to continue with their education with the minimum disruption and are not disadvantaged.
