Creative Digital Media

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Our Creative Digital Media programme will provide you with an opportunity to begin your journey in the exciting world of the media industry. Using industry-standard software and hardware in our purpose-built Mac environment and ipads and access to an impressive range of cameras, lenses, industry standard stabilising camera equipment, tascams, lighting and access to green screen studio will give you the best possible start in developing the skills you will need to work in the fast-paced and creative environment of the media. 

WHAT WILL I DO?

At the start of the course, you will work with developing the basic skills of media production and management, developing your sound design and print layout; creative script writing; filmmaking; print production skills, animation and digital photography skills. As your level of proficiency increases the projects will become more challenging, engaging you to design your own Media pathway. Learners will work in an open plan environment which allows the learners to get a good sense of how the media industry works, all practical projects will be client based working with local businesses. 

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?

Throughout the duration of the course learners will build up an online creative media portfolio and will achieve a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production qualification worth 3 A Levels and earn you UCAS points to take through to University – or if you have your own media specialism you can do an additional year on the L4 Enterprise course which will prepare you to explore freelance work in the Media Industry.

Creative Enterprise Professional Diploma – Creative Business Start-Up

The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise is an exciting, practical one year creative business start-up course aimed at those with the dream of starting their own creative business.

The qualification develops business skills and awareness, expands your industry contacts through professional collaboration and networking, and helps you build a strong creative portfolio within your own creative specialism.

The qualification is for anyone who is interested in starting their own creative projects or company.  It will support those who want to gain industry knowledge and experience and test a business idea with the support and guidance of specialist mentors.

Creative Media Production & Technology Level 3

The qualification has been designed for those who have an interest in media and who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full-time, immersive learning experience. Many students will have identified a specific career in the creative industries that they wish to progress to (e.g. producer, director, cinematographer, broadcast technician, editor etc), using this qualification as a starting point.

This is a combined practical and theory based work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands and you will develop the skills you need to start a career.

Multimedia Level 2

The qualification has been designed for those who have an interest in the media and are looking to explore and extend their interest via a full-time, immersive learning experience. The course covers a range of disciplines from film and television, journalism, social media, PR and marketing, photography, and creative writing, among others. Many students have identified a specific career in the creative industries that they wish to progress to using this qualification as a starting point.
