This course will give you the skills and knowledge you need to provide basic shampoo and condition, styling men's and women's hair, plaiting and twisting, the art of dressing hair and, salon reception duties. You will gain an insight into working in the sector and knowledge of the health, safety and hygiene requirements. It will support progression onto a Level 2 course.

When you complete this course you will have all the essential skills you need to gain employment or start your own business in the hairdressing industry!

This is a level 1 aimed to provide an introduction to Further Education and the courses on offer. It comprises of core units that will prepare students for a level 2 qualification, pastoral units that will give students essential skills for personal development, and subject units to give an example of future courses. Other pathways include Engineering, Sport and Business.

This qualification is designed for anyone considering a career in the health or social care sector. The course includes a certificate in understanding working in the health and social care sector and additional learning about the social care sector and the main human body systems (anatomy and physiology). It is a good foundation year for progression to the level 3 course - T level health. 

This level 2 apprenticeship is suitable for learners who are aged 18-21 and would like to progress into the role of Health Care Support Assistant.

The apprenticeship provides a mix of employability skills and behaviours, technical knowledge and skills and associated English and maths. The apprenticeship will not only help you grow your skills but will also help to inform your next career steps.

Health and Care Support Assistants work in a range of health and care settings, for example in a care home, hospital, General Practice, as part of a community team and individuals’ homes where the wider team may include workers from both health and social care.

The broad purpose is to provide high quality and compassionate care and support to individuals. Daily duties will vary dependent on where you work and whether your work is focussed on supporting healthcare professionals in providing clinical healthcare or providing personal care and support in adult social care.

On completion of the course, you will be competent in the knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined in the standard. If you complete all of the content, you will be part-way through a journey to a more specialist occupation.

A Heavy Vehicle (HV) technician services, inspects, and repairs HVs, classified by the Department of Transport as category N2 or N3, along with associated trailers and ancillaries. They work in dealerships focusing on specific manufacturers or in independent garages, franchises, or large fleet operators dealing with various vehicle makes.

Technicians handle all vehicle systems, performing tasks from simple part replacements to diagnosing complex faults using advanced diagnostic methods. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of vehicle systems. They must work independently and as effective team members, understand commercial operations, and demonstrate good customer handling skills while seeking ways to work more efficiently.
