Towards Independence and Work

This programme is ideal for students who are new to Supported Studies and need to start to develop the skills towards Preparing for Adulthood including living independently and beginning to think about work experience opportunities. Towards Independence and Work will give our students the time they need to make progress in life skills and educationally through diverse areas and subjects including English and Maths, creative Arts and Independent and Employment Skills. We also have a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing including ​looking after your mental health, mindfulness, ​adopting a growth mindset and ​taking part in activities such as yoga. 

This programme also offers support for learners during break and lunch times, including help with building friendships and relationships. Learners will also have the opportunity to take part in coaching sessions as well as social sessions to help develop their social and communication skills. As their confidence grows, so will their ability to achieve more than they thought or believed was possible. ​We are also able to make referrals with Essex Travel Training to develop your young person’s confidence in travelling independently and this can be incorporated into their program of study.

T Level Building Services Engineering for Construction L3

T Levels are designed to deliver world-class technical education and give you a new choice after GCSEs. The Construction T level has been designed with leading businesses and employers in the construction industry and gives you:

  • A thorough understanding of concepts and theories of the construction industry.
  • The opportunity to solve real life problems in the construction industry.
  • Valuable experience of learning from the experts through working side by side with those in the construction industry on your industry placement so that you have the chance to learn what this career is like in the real world while you continue your studies.
  • Specialist knowledge and skills of electrical and electronic systems engineering.

T Level Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction

This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in construction, specifically in surveying and design, civil engineering, building services design, or hazardous materials surveying.

T Levels are designed to deliver world-class technical education and give you a new choice after GCSEs. The Construction T level has been designed with leading businesses and employers in the construction industry and gives you:

  • A thorough understanding of concepts and theories of the construction industry.

T Level Digital Production, Design and Development

The T-Level in Digital Production Design and Development offers a combination of classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum of 315 hours of Industry placements with an employer to make sure you have a real experience of the work place.

It is intended for students who want to progress to a career in the Digital sector, with a focus on software design and development.

The T-Level is a new 2 year programme that offers an attractive alternative to A Levels and Apprenticeships.

  • The opportunity to solve real life problems in the education and childcare sector.
  • Valuable experience of learning from the experts through working side by side with those in the education and childcare sector on your industry placement so that you have the chance to learn what this career is like in the real world while you continue your studies.  
  • Specialist knowledge and skills relating to either early years or supporting and mentoring students in further and higher education 

T Level Health Level 3

T Level Pathway - Working with Children in Early Years and Primary Settings

The aim of this qualification is to support learners as they develop their knowledge, understanding and skills when caring for and supporting the learning and development of children aged 0 – 11years 11 months. Whilst studying this course you will also complete the T Level Transition Programme which will be tailored to meet your needs in English and Maths, Technical skills, Pastoral support and Personal development.

T Level Pathway – Design Surveying and Planning

The aim of the Transition Programme is to ensure you develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours essential to progress on to our T Level programme. On your course you will gain an understanding of the construction industry and the roles each of the professions play in a construction project.  You will also be required to further develop your English and Maths to the required standard to be able to progress on to the T Level.

T Level Pathway – Digital Support and Services

This course will give you the potential opportunity to progress to the T level in Digital Infrastructure or other IT courses. You will be scheduled to attend college over 3 days a week and you will need to be organised and motivated to complete self-study. The course has been designed to include both practical and theoretical learning. You will have an opportunity to complete at least 25 hours of work experience. We have a dedicated support team to help you find work experience and get involved with skill development activities. This is an amazing opportunity to take up a bespoke course that allows you to progress onto the new industry recognised technical qualifications.

T Level Pathway – Diploma in Machining

The aim of this qualification is to support learners as they develop their knowledge, understanding and skills in engineering, learning the fundamentals of the subject. Whilst studying this course, learners will also complete the T Level Transition Programme which will be tailored to meet your needs in English and Maths, Technical skills, Pastoral support and Personal development.

T Level Pathway – Health & Social Care

Health and social care is about supporting and caring for those of all ages. A job in this sector is demanding and challenging but also very rewarding.

This course offers four units that enable learners to gain an insight into the sector. It is suitable for those who have no previous experience in health and social care but may wish to peruse a career in this sector. This course is assignment based, with a minimum of 60 hours of work experience. Those who only need to do one GCSE will complete half a day a week of volunteering*. This will enhance their employability on completion of the programme.

This course offers the first step into a career in health and social care and could also lead to the T level 3 course, if the criteria is met. 

*This will apply to learners starting from Septenber 2022

T Level Pathway – Laboratory Sciences

The T Level Pathway Programme is a new type of 16 to 19 study programme, specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto and success on a T Level. It is targeted at students who are not ready to start a T Level but have the potential, once successful, to progress onto one following a tailored preparation programme.

T Level Science Level 3

T Levels follow GCSEs and are equivalent to studying three A levels. T levels are an advanced level, 2-year technical qualification designed with employers and leading research institutes to give you a head start towards the future you want.

The Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship is for someone who can take responsibility for managing a team or discrete project. They can support, manage and develop team members, manage projects, plan and monitor workloads and resources. They can take responsibility for delivering operational plan, resolving problems and building relations.
