Children and Young People's Workforce Apprenticeship

Build the knowledge and skills you'll need to work with children and young people. This course pepares you for a diverse range of roles working in children's environments, including early years and social care. It's suitable for anyone who wants to work in a supervised role in the children and young people's workforce in England.

This workforce makes up around 10% of the labour market in England. A large number work in the public sector, including in schools, colleges, local authorities and the NHS. Many work in the private sector – particularly in early years, but there are private providers in all areas of services to children and young people.

Early Years Educator Apprenticeship

Do you enjoy working with young people and have a caring and patient nature? A career in childcare care could be perfect for you. Doing an Early Years apprenticeship will allow you to gain the skills you'll need to work in this dynamic industry. You'll learn how to work with children of different ages, educate and care for children and ultimately how to excel in your Early Years career.

Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship

Laboratory technicians work in a wide range of organisations, including chemical, primary and secondary pharmaceutical, biotechnology, formulated products, nuclear companies and analytical science services. A laboratory technician may carry out both routine and one-off laboratory testing and perform a variety of technical support functions across the organisation. In any context working safety and ethically is paramount and many companies operate under highly regulated conditions because of the need to control the quality and safety of products, for example medicines. Laboratory technicians are expected to work both individually and as part of a team. They are able to work with minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work that is undertaken. They are proactive in finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving the business.

Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship will help you understand the education sector and the skills, knowledge and understanding you need to be an effective classroom assistant. It will also help you to progress further in teaching. Whenever possible term dates are in line with those of the Essex schools. We understand that many of our students have family commitments. Mature students are valued for their life experiences, and an increasing number are entering higher education each year. Many are now pursuing new careers and seeing changes in their lives that they never thought possible.
