    Entry requirements

    4 GCSEs Grades 2 - 3 or equivalent and minimum Level 1 in Maths and English. A satisfactory pass at NVQ 1 or Introductory Diploma.

    Who is it suitable for?

    This qualification is for learners who want to start a career in digital technology. It is designed for post-16 learners and can be taken as part of a wider study programme. It is an ideal qualification for learners intending to progress directly to employment in digital technology or IT, or to an IT apprenticeship.

    How will I be assessed?

    You will study two units each trimester. There will be two externally assessed unit examinations and the remaining units will be internally assessed. Each internal unit will be assessed through projects, assignments, presentations and observation of practical work. Throughout the programme, you will need to collect a portfolio of evidence showing how you have met the requirements of the program. Internal units are assessed and graded, added to the results of the examinations and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.

    A computer at home with a reliable internet connection. We will provide the software licences for you to be able to work and transfer files at home.
