Every company relies to a certain extent on security, networking and technology professionals with advanced technical skills to complete a diverse range of jobs. Our IT, security and networking course will give you a solid understanding of business and empower you to progress to university or into a challenging and rewarding career.
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including 4 or above in English and Maths.
How much does it cost?
Free to those aged 16-18
There is a range of financial support that you may be entitled to, including: Learner Support funds, grants and bursaries and employer support.
Charge of £50 for the 1 year programme or £100 for the 2 Year programme. Fees cover the costs for computing equipment, PC/Mac editing software, exhibitions and compulsory trips.

Topics covered include application design and development, mobile technology, social media and big data analytics, cloud technology, app development, cyber security, global information, fundamentals of IT and computer networks.

Theoretical study will be complemented by hands-on practice in our state-of-the-art computer equipment. This means that you’ll complete the course with additional use of Apple technology on top of your IT course.

How will I be assessed?
You will study three or four units each trimester. Units will be assessed through exams, projects, assignments, presentations and observation of practical work. Throughout the programme, you will need to collect a portfolio of evidence showing how you have met the requirements of the program. Internal units are assessed and graded, added to an overall grade for the qualification.
Will I have to provide anything?
You are welcome to bring your own laptop, smartphone or any other technology needed. In addition to the College provided iPad.
